Founding the Foundation

On Monday, 13th of February 2012, the FREELENS Foundation was established in Hamburg. The new association aims to promote arts and culture and support needy people in Germany and abroad. Urs Kluyver was elected as chairman of the Foundation, Jürgen Escher and Bertram Solcher as his deputies.

The FREELENS Foundation wants to call attention to living and working conditions of photographers and photojournalists in other parts of the world and specifically support projects and individuals. Projects in developing countries will be the focus of its work. By close cooperation with persons responsible for projects on site, recipients will benefit directly from the donations.
